The theme for the 2017 photography competition was 'Your pets and the four seasons', where we invited amateur photographers to enter pictures of their pets captured in either spring, summer, autumn or winter.
There were two categories in the competition: Adult (16 years and over) and Junior (15 years and under) and each of the six winners featured below won photographic vouchers.
From the hundreds of fantastic photographs we received, our patron Gyles Brandreth chose his top six photographs, which are shown below and said; "I've judged quite a few competitions in my time, including a Knobbly Knees contest and a Bonny Baby competition (very risky because you're bound to upset almost everyone!), but this was different and special because the entries were amazing, making it a very hard competition to judge".
Well done to our adult and junior winners and thank you to everyone who took part and raised awareness of PetSavers!
Keep an eye on the website for the launch of the next cycle!
Please note: PetSavers does not fund experimental research requiring licence under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986.
The Act makes a distinction between experimental procedures and 'recognised veterinary practice' which is defined as
'procedures and techniques performed on animals by veterinary surgeons in the course of their professional duties,
which ensure the health and welfare of animals committed to their care'.
